Sponsorship Opportunities at Wantage and Grove Cricket Club
Wantage and Grove Cricket Club is a friendly, family orientated cricket club. We are a part of the local community and have been a focus for cricket and social activities for many years. We are centrally located with a large catchment area of local residents and with easy access for visitors from the surrounding areas such as Grove.
Wantage and Grove Cricket Club provide a friendly, safe and enjoyable centre for the development of cricket for all ages and abilities. We currently run two Saturday teams playing league cricket in the Cherwell leagues, a Sunday side playing social cricket against local and visiting sides and a Wednesday evening side playing in the Serious Cricket Downs League. We also provide cricket coaching for youngsters aged from 7 – 14, where we are seeing increased interest and participation. As a club, we have ambitious plans for the development of our facilities and to increase cricket opportunities, such as ladies cricket at the club.
Our facilities at our Charlton Village Road ground are widely recognised as excellent. With a welcoming, recently refurbished club house and a high quality cricket square, our ground is used by local clubs, community groups and local families. With other local clubs and businesses playing evening games, we have many visitors to the ground providing a high profile for our sponsors.
In addition to our league cricket, the youth cricket coaching means that many local families are engaged and involved with our club. Friday evenings will see many families enjoying the social aspects of our club and facilities. In addition, we have hosted a variety of social events including six a side tournaments, family days and beer festivals.
We continue to actively develop our facilities. Over the last few years we have invested over £20,000 to upgrade the clubhouse. This has significantly improved the facilities for families making Wantage and Grove Cricket Club an excellent social and community facility. With the major housing developments coming to completion around Wantage and Grove we anticipate an increasing membership and an increasing number of visitors to the clubhouse.
We have a current membership of around 100 playing and social members. Each month we publish a club newsletter which goes to all the members updating them on developments, results and fixtures at the club.
