Match Report V Marsh Gibbon II Away
Hello Team…
Colin and I did NOT have the luxury of picking from a decent number this week, and were very grateful to the two Bicester boys (cheers Jamie and Robert) for filling the last two spots and performing well. Overall it was a fantastic team performance.
As usual I lost the toss and we were tasked with bowling 1st. So myself and Ryan Martin opened, what followed was one of the days were everything went to plan. Both of us bowling our full 12 overs, Ryan taking 4 wickets and a superb HATRICK. With me contributing with 3 wickets and going for only 9 runs, i was worn out too..!! Wooloff senior must have special mention for the specialist role of 1st slip to 1st slip; indeed it takes a man of certain skills to fill this spot – well done..!!
Back on with the wickets, special mention for Mongo, for taking a fantastic catch fielding very close to the bat and to Steve Bramley for taking a deep catch too. Barry and Grant took a wicket apiece and the other victim was to a run out again from Grant. The bowling and just as importantly the fielding was up to a very high standard. Good work guys.
Ryan Martin 12 – 4 – 24 – 4
Duncan Wooloff 12 – 8 – 9 – 3
Barry Martin 2 – 2 – 0 – 1
Grant Summersbee 2.2 – 0 – 8 – 1
Chasing down a total of 46 was not too much of a task, although we lost one wicket; we were never in danger of not taking the points. Ryan and Colin opened scoring 24 and 12 respectively, Colin was out bringing Barry to the crease, and finished 10 not out. All in all it was a great performance another good point’s tally, which keeps up in second place in the league.
Well done all.
